Amar Smalls is a dynamic dancer, choreographer, and co-owner of SMALLSDANCE, whose professional journey spans some of the most prestigious names in dance. A former company member with Ailey II, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, and Collage Dance Collective, Amar brings together classical technique and contemporary storytelling in powerful and original ways.

He received his training at The Ailey School, American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School (JKO School), San Francisco Ballet School, and Harlem School of the Arts. Amar’s choreography has been featured nationally on major networks including CBS and ABC. In 2025, he co-founded SMALLSDANCE a bold new movement space dedicated to excellence, expression, and access in dance.

Adanna Smalls is an expressive and versatile dance artist from Brooklyn, NY, known for her powerful presence and refined technique. She began her formal training at the Abrons Arts Center/Henry Street Settlement and later graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School with a concentration in dance.

A proud alumna of The Ailey School’s Certificate Program, Adanna has performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Bird Lives! and Memoria. She has worked with celebrated choreographers including Clifton Brown, Norbert De La Cruz III, and Ronald K. Brown, and previously apprenticed with Evidence, A Dance Company.

In 2025, Adanna joins Ailey II for her first season and also co-founded SMALLSDANCE, a bold new movement space dedicated to excellence, expression, and access in dance.
